Jimmy’s Coffee

Found on McCaul street, this snug little cafe is known as Jimmy’s Coffee and has been a trendy place to be for awhile in Toronto. I had come here once before, but never gotten a chance to document my visit here.

Inside it was fully packed – all the tables available were taken by customers enjoying their hot cup of coffee and either working on their laptops or reading books. It was definitely an ambiance of the typical cafe. The ceilings were decorated elegantly with some interesting golden art and the walls were also decorated with pictures and a huge blow out menu.

For our order, my boyfriend and I got a Cappuccino as well as a Latte in a cup to go since the place was extremely crowded. We had to take our coffee all the way to Sanford Fleming at the University of Toronto in order to get a taste of our drink. Jimmy’s small capacity was definitely a downside to coming to this cafe, especially when we were trying to sit and have our coffee in a relaxed environment.

My latte was a standard latte – I always enjoyed getting a latte because of the art which comes with it. The barista working that day made it look great and the taste was there – it was a bit too bitter for me and I wish it would have been sweeter, but that’s upon personal preference.

My boyfriend had gotten the Cappuccino and he didn’t seem too thrilled about it. He still finished it at the library but it wasn’t a deep satisfaction like other places we’ve gone to. Perhaps upon another visit, Jimmy’s Coffee will be a bit better for the two of us.
